Starting at the end of March and going through May 8th, 2015, Ronda Coryell, award-winning jewelry designer, world-renowned goldsmith, and internationally acknowledged expert and instructor in the handling and working with Argentium silver, will be offering intensive classes at Creative Side Jewelry Academy in Austin, Tex.

Classes can be taken on an individual weekly basis, or in six-week sessions overall, in-depth. Each class focuses on responsibly-mined Argentium silver, as well as the use of argon gas with kilns. Students will leave the classes with not only a collection of jewelry they have created themselves, but a strong foundation in the principles and techniques of handcrafting jewelry, specifically in Argentium.

Ronda Coryell, along with the Argentium Silver Guild, have established the Argentium Instructor Certification Program for those wanting to become an internationally recognized instructor of Argentium. Certification requires quality performance in the areas of fabricating, soldering, fusing, finishing, and working with this highly tarnish-resistant silver. The classes at Creative Side Jewelry Academy will prepare students for the certification process.

Creative Side offers over 75 jewelry-related courses per semester. This Austin metal arts school bases its program time in the studio and hands-on instruction from professional metalsmiths and expert jewelers, while allowing students to incorporate their own personal skill goals at the bench. Whether you are a serious hobbyist or a business-minded crafter, you can achieve anything you want on your business path or curriculum, until you're proficient in the craft. “I hand pick our instructors who are high caliber craftsmen. The Argentium Guild and Allied Metals will be sponsoring two scholarships for any teen finishing a week-long workshop. The winning student will receive $500, and the student will be chosen at random out of any of the fully completed projects.
